The Greyhound Adoption Center is one of the oldest and largest greyhound
rescue groups in the United States. We have placed more than 3,000
greyhounds since our founding in 1987, initially as a branch of Greyhound Pets
of America.
We are a not-for-profit group, staffed almost entirely by volunteers. More than
225 greyhound lovers throughout California and Nevada help with transport or
work with the dogs at our kennel in San Diego, California. Other
volunteers contribute time as placement representatives or are involved in
fund-raising or catalog sales. Many more help spread the word about
greyhounds by increasing public awareness at "Show 'n' Tells" or
other forums.
